Hospital Association of South Africa (HASA)

The Hospital Association of South Africa (HASA) represents the interests of more than 90% of private hospitals in South Africa. It is a not for profit organisation that exists to further the interests of its member hospitals. To this end HASA involves itself with national and provincial forums of the Department of Health, as well as their related committees and personnel. HASA also actively engages both the public and private health professions on numerous issues and interests, such as; quality and service issues, information technology, legislative developments, nursing and related interests in the industry as a whole. .

South African Society of Psychiatrists (SASOP)

The aims of the Society are to promote, maintain and protect the honor and interests of the discipline of Psychiatry as a medical profession, and to serve the community.

Mental Health Information Centre (MHIC)

The Mental Health Information Centre has been in operation since 1995 and is situated at the Health Sciences Faculty, University of Stellenbosch. They received formal recognition from the Medical Research Council in 1997, and continue to work closely with the MRC Unit on Anxiety and Stress Disorders. This is the most prevalent group of all psychiatric disorders and deserves special attention.

South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP)

The South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) is a Statutory Body that regulates the Social Service Professions in terms of the Social Service Professions Act 110, 1978.

South African Medical Association (SAMA)

The South African Medical Association (SAMA) is the representative body for medical practitioners in South Africa.

Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA)

The Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA) is a statutory health body established in terms of the Allied Health Professions Act, 63 of 1982 (The Act) in order to control all allied health professions, which includes Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy, Osteopathy Phytotherapy, Therapeutic Aromatherapy, Therapeutic Massage Therapy, Therapeutic Reflexology and Unani-Tibb.

Psychological Society of South Africa

PsySSA is a professional body contributing to the development of the profession of psychology, ensuring quality of service to the community, safeguarding ethical standards, building professional relationships in South Africa and abroad.

Psychiatric Focus Forum (PFF)

The Psychiatric Focus Forum (PFF) is a specialist division of the Hospital Associiation of South Africa (HASA)  comprising most private psychiatric hospitals in South Africa.  The PFF member hospitals have to comply with minimum standards for the provision of mental health services, set by the PFF.
